Liquid Confessions (Part 3)

(continued from Part 1, Part 2)

As much as your words from the incident we had before shook me up a little bit, I understood. You didn't need the alcohol to give you liquid confidence, you just wanted me to hear you out before it was too late. I knew that those were feelings you had brewing up inside. As several weeks passed by, we both reset our minds with emotions aside to clear things out. As much as I wanted to call you to make amends, I waited it out because after all I was fine with where things were.

You drown yourself constantly in your work and you seem to drown yourself in the facade that you have to celebrate your success through those parities, girls and alcohol. I know that you are having fun and I'm glad that you are doing well but it is just not necessary for you to go on showing it off as if you have something to prove. I wish I could say things were better since we last talked but I'm over my head with trying to stay straight professionally and personally.

Alone in bed doing work, you come in right on cue with a call at 2:30 in the morning.

"What are you up to?"
"I just came home from a party."
"Oh...How are you?"
"Honestly, not that well."

The tone in your voice unmasked it all and I knew there was something more than you would allow to say during the phone call. You could also tell by my stale responses that something was up and just like old times, we confided in each other. We did not confined in each other like ex-couples would, but as people that were really looking out for the others best interest.

"I just don't know why I work as hard as I do sometimes, the people that I work for don't even appreciate me."
"You've always worked hard and the reason why you keep doing what you are doing is because you love what you do."
"I know. What about you though? You seem..well you sound like you are doing well."
"As much as I'm thankful, there is just so much pressure to keep this image up."
"Don't get lost in all of that artificial bureaucracy, you are way better than that."
"I know. I hope that your boy is helping you out with all that you're dealing with."
"He still getting used to it I guess, he doesn't quite understand."

Towards the end of our conversation the relationship seemed cordial and for the first time in a long time, it felt as if weight has been lifted off our shoulders. Maybe it was because you finally accepted the fact that it was time that you move on or maybe it was because I also realized that maybe there was still hope that we could be friends. As we started to dwindle, the last thing that you said before we hung up helped me remember the old you.

"I’m lucky that you picked up. Lucky that you stayed on. I need someone to put this weight on....I'm sorry."

Liquid Confessions (Part 2)

(continued for Part 1)

That door is still open. However, the picture is clear. We are just friends. Although, you know very well that no one knows you just quite like I do and I know very well that no one will have my back like you do...until maybe now.

While you are adjusting to the freedom and the fame, I'm adjusting on getting my money and mind right with a man that understands fully of who I am and where I want to go. I know that it drives you crazy inside because there you are thinking about what we used to do and if I'm doing the same exact things with him. I just don't understand but at the same time do. I suggest you not compare my feelings of the past and the feelings that I feel right now because you will just hurt yourself.

I sit in front of the screen, trying to meet a deadline and my phone seems to be seizuring. I'm a little hesitant to pick up only because it is 3 a.m. I already know that it's you, bracing myself for the conversation that we are about to have:

"Hey."
"What are you doing up so late?"
"Finishing up some work...where are you? What is all of that noise in the background?"
"We just got done with one of the after partys."
"Ok, well be safe. Call me when you get home, I'm trying to finish this up."

I already know that you've had one to many because you are the type to never turn down glasses of what the guys always seem to symbolize as celebration. Slurring out of your mind and repeating way to many times, you continue to attempt.

"No, no, no. I'm fine, just talk to me."
"Well, I can't right now because I'm in the middle of something."
"You know that I still care for you."
"I know but we are just friends remember."
"You need to stop saying that sh*t. Seriously."
"Well whether you like it or not, that's all that I left for you."

As soon as I put you in your place, you use the alcohol discrepancy to your advantage and decided to answer back with a smart lip. Thinking the words over and over, you thought that if I could walk away that easily then there was nothing left for you to salvage and you might as well let me have it.

"F*** that guy that you love so bad, I know you still think about the times we had. So f*** that guy that you think you found, since you picked up I know he’s not around.”

Liquid Confessions (Part 1)

As I'm about to settle in these warm covers at the end of this cold night and after a long day, the phone rings. I look over and it's you. You just finished your first project as the top notch hot shot that you are. Posting up on my side with the phone held close, I hear every word you say. With my body exhausted out of its existence, I can't help but smile because your plans are finally coming together.

I'm actually surprised that you even called after what I told you couple of nights ago. It's been a while since we broke up and I'm happy that we even have the relationship that we have now. We are civil but deep down inside I know that you have your reservations. My heart has healed, I'm grateful for the memories but I've moved on. It did hurt before; because I knew that we both couldn't continue on the same path and now you're starting to feel pieces of your foundation drifting away.

You go on and on about the professional hurdles that you have jumped for this opportunity to happen but  I'm slowly falling in and out.
"I have to go to sleep now, I'm tired."
"Wait, I have so much to tell you because the..."
"Sorry hun but I have to wake up early because he and I are trying to have an early start tomorrow."

You come back down to reality and remember, that I've got someone else and I no longer look at you in that love light anymore. We depart the conversation with no invitation to return but you are reassured with my previous track record of making the right decisions, like the decision that I made of not getting back together with you.

"Okay, I'll let you get some sleep. I'll call you tomorrow."
"Actually, I'll be busy tomorrow. We have an all day thing but congratulations. Hope you have a good night."

While I post up peacefully in my own bed, the rest of your night is far from good because you knew very well that you were not the last person that I was thinking of as I fell asleep. I got you thinking...

"The woman that I would try, is happy with a good guy."

In To Fall Out (Part 4)

(continued from Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)

It finally hit me. I can't do this anymore. I have to do what I have to do. I mean, he was fun--we had fun. I wanted all of this confusion to stop.

When I told him we had to end our fling, he didn't resist. As much as I wanted him to soothe the emptiness that I was feeling in my chest, I kept telling myself that it was for the best. Although, how could it be for the best when I feel like I'm leaving something behind? And how could I even say that it feels like a break up when we haven't even officially started?

He texted one night that he wanted to talk and with no hesitation I went over. As soon and I saw his face there it was, that feeling that I just couldn't describe. Suprisngly, it wasn't awkward. I mean, it felt as if we were legitamitley cool with what had happened couple of days before. But then he just had to pick at my brain and explore my most inner thoughts. The thoughts that I was secretly keeping to myself because I for one was still trying to find answers.

As we both looked at the celing he said, "I'm not afraid to be alone."
Puzzled, I said, "neither am I."
As I turned my head over, I told him, "I'm not afraid to be in love, I'm just cautious with things that I can't completley control."
In all retrospect things like my family, my career and my destiny, those things can only be fulfilled if I make them happen. Even though there are some shades of gray, matters of the heart are more complex because emotions are involved. When he kissed me that night, I realized then that his eyes were closed.

Then it hit me again.
As much as I felt content being alone, I just could not deny this feeling.
When I looked into the gateways of his soul that night, I remember that at that very moment, he was completley perfect.
It was not being alone that I feared.
I was afraid of going back to that place that I swore that I would never revisit.
I was afraid of allowing love from a person as authentic as he into my life and into my already fragile heart.
I was afraid of not being in control.
In the beginning I was vigilant because I swore I wasn't going to fall. With no back up plan at hand, the issue now was trying to fall back out.
They say that plans are tentative but I never thought that someone like him would ever consider a person like me. However, I for one knew that I wouldn't let this fling manifest emotions that could tentatively hold us back from the life-long plans that we have been working so hard to reach.

..."Cause whenever you're near, it's love that I fear. I've been saved in this shell and I can't tell if I'm living at all. I've been doing well on my own but maybe it's just me who I'm decieving. Cause everything about me leads right to you.'...

In To Fall Out (Part 3)

(continued from Part 1, Part 2)

As he stared into my eyes, I couldn't help but think about how wonderful this man was. He was everything that I could ever ask for. As cliche as it was, my reality was way better than my dreams and as much as I wanted to incorporate him in my future, our dreams were leading us in two different directions.

I've thought about cutting out the intimate part of our relationship because it was safer for us to be friends. What was the sense of continuing it all when there was no mutual goal to attain? He was going to leave in a couple of years and so was I. However I also thought about what I had promised myself years ago: to live life without any regrets. I did not want to move on with my life without giving us a shot.

"I really like you," he whispered.
And as I stared, I tried to tuck my worries away.
As I touched his face, I looked deep into his beautiful hazel eyes, kissed him on his forehead and whispered back, "you're amazing."

Because he was nothing less than amazing. He had a genuine soul that was undeniable, he had a heart that you could not help but adore and he knew all of the right things to say or do in order to wash away all of your troubles.

While we were laying in bed, I gently caressed his chest. I just wanted to soak it all in. Even if was just simply being beside him.
"What's wrong baby?"
"Nothing. Just looking at you."
As he gently brushed my arm he trusted his intuition and asked, "tell me what's on your mind."

So I let him hear it.
"We can't get attached."
He had his way with words and instead of agreeing with me, he said "we both believe that things happen for a reason." As he kissed me, he gazed into my eyes with contentment. "We just don't know what the reason is just yet but trust me when I say that I enjoy all the time that you give me."

There I'am saying in my head, that line was perfect! Where is the director waiting to call cut? Because really, who says that? But as he sat up to lean over he said, "for our hearts sake though, we'll stop this when you feel like it's best."
With relief I told him that he had to make me that promise.
And as he kissed me for the last time that night he said something that reassured me he was paying attention to every secret pocket of my heart, "We'll try our best so that both of us don't end up hurting."

..."The way you move, the way you look at me. There's something about the way you see things
its like a change of scenery. Everything about you, I just want more of."...

In To Fall Out (Part 2)

(continued from Part 1)

“Girl, I don’t know what it is. He’s something else.”
“Oh really, is that so now? What happened to saying that all guys have something wrong with them?”
“I know I’ve said that before but I can’t find anything just yet.”

As I thought about it, everything about Sam was too good to be true. On paper, he was the guy that I told my girlfriends to settle for. He was smart, witty, driven and handsome. Everyone that I knew not only liked him but respected him. So why was I having such a hard time grasping the fact that maybe he was one of the exceptional ones?

“Cassie, maybe you have something good on your hands. I mean all of things that you have mentioned are all good things.”
“If he was so good, then why do I have this feeling of being in a stance?”
“Maybe it’s because you don’t want to set yourself up for that disappointment.”

As much as she was right, I wasn’t opening up to Sam because opening up means that you are allowing yourself to feel. As much as this was a good thing…I knew that if I continued this, I would be taking a risk of the heart.

“Remember what you always would tell me. Is this love or is this lust?”

Deep inside I knew that it wasn’t love. Maybe it was infatuation? I didn’t know how I felt about him or the relationship we had. All I knew was that he was something else. He was calling out all of the correct plays and saying things that you only hear in movies. However this was neither a movie nor a game. For once I was in limbo of what my heart wanted to allow itself to feel and what my head wanted to believe.

“I want to get closer but let me doubt a little longer.”

In To Fall Out (Part 1)

“Cassie.”
“Cassie.”
“Hello Cassie!”
“Oh! Sorry guys. I was just thinking of some ideas for the fundraiser.”
“I’m sure Cass, what clever ideas were you thinking of?”
“I’ll let you know when they are all thought out.”

As everyone left the conference room, I sat there. I just didn’t know what it was. Why am I thinking of him?
We don’t have much in common or do we?
No we don’t, he is not even my type.
I was thinking of him every spare second but I had no valid reason other than that we always have a great time together.

Beep. Text message from him. “I miss you.”

As much as I liked Sam I just knew that I had to be careful. I knew what he was working towards in life and this little fling that we had going on would just be a distraction. Not only for him but me as well. I didn’t even know why he liked spending time with me because god knows that he is a good catch and could get with others way better than I.

Giggling and thinking to myself, “Shut up Cassie! Why are you even thinking that bull? You are not insecure. Shoot! you got some rich substance to you too.”

I didn’t even know where things were going. All I knew was that everytime I thought of him, I'd pause and smile. I didn’t care where this fling was going but I sure as hell was willing to go along for the ride.

"I can't help it. I can't tell you how much I try to get you off my mind."

Fall For Your Type (Part 5)

(continued from Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4)

As she got busier and busier, I started to see less of her. I understood that she needed to work, had family priorities and wanted to kick it with her girls from time to time but where did that leave me? I'd call and no response. Voicemail left but no call back. Text sent but no reply. Maybe she was busy.

It got to a point where I didn't hear from her for days. It hurt a little but when she did call, I'd tell her how I felt neglected. She'd apologize and we'd be ok for a few. Although the cycle would start up again and I thought that maybe she was acting like this because I was getting too comfortable.

So I would surprise her with lunch one day, chocolates the next and flowers the week after. I tried my best to keep her on her toes. However, all the efforts still left me in the same position, without the girl that I wanted.

"Hey."
"Hey."
"Where have you been?"
"You know, busy as always. These projects just seem to be piling up."
"What are you doing tonight? Let me help ease off your stress."
"It's okay, I've been spending so much time pleasing other people. I need time for myself."
"Okay, I understand. Well, have a good night. I miss you."
"Aww, I miss you too. I'll talk to you later."

As we hung up the phone, I just couldn't help but let out a sigh. The boys called and they wanted to hit downtown. All hung up on her, they convinced me that a night out would take my mind off of it all. From bar to bar, we'd take a swig and bounce to the next. However, when I got out of the bar at the end of 6th Ave., from across the street there was a girl that looked familiar. It was her. As her girls walked ahead, she chatted with a dude in the back of the pack. I didn't care if that dude was a stranger, one of her girls' boys or even one of her homies...my heart ached a little because she said she wanted time to herself but there she was. Then I began to think that I've been....

..."making a mistake I never learn from. I swear, I always fall for your type. Tell me why I always fall for your type. I just can't explain this ish at all"...

Fall For Your Type (Part 4)

(continued from Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)
At 3:45am my phone rings and I don't mind picking it up because her name is on the display screen. She had another wild night with her girlfriends and wanted to come home to me. Tired as hell, I walked to open the door. She walked straight in, put on one of my shirts, and curled up under the covers. This girl was for sure sipping on the alk but she had a reason too, she just got a promotion at work. She was coming off of her buzz and had a confession.

"I'm sorry that it's late but I just wanted to be with you tonight."
"It's okay, as long as you are safe..that's all that matters."

I turned over and held her in my arms. I brushed the hair off of her face so that I could gaze into her starlight eyes and then it came....

"I care about you a lot. I just want you to know that."
"I know. I care about you too."
"I know that we have pasts but I'm telling you now, I'm not going to hurt you."
"Okay baby. Just sleep. You're just drunk."
"No, I know what I'm saying. I'm serious."

And as I held her in my arms, I kissed her forehead and continued to stroke her hair. At that very moment..I knew that I wanted her forever when she said...

"I won't do you wrong like all them other girls. The difference between me and them is that...I love you completley for who you are."

..."you say that you’re nothing like the last girl. I just pray that you don’t let me down right now."...

Fall For Your Type (Part 3)

(continued from Part 1, Part 2)

This girl was unbelievable, I tell you. With her I can be completley honest and open without judgement. She respected my fast pace life, could keep up with me drink for drink and was the type that I could bring home to meet mom, all rolled into one. This girl was nothing less than amazing. Even my friends saw what her love was doing to me and they weren't afraid to call me out on it.

"Dude, this new girl got you acting mad different."
"Seriously though guys, she is different. So with that I got to do things differently."
"You're doing things that we have never seen you do."
"You better watch yourself. Girls like that look out for themselves. I mean look at all of your exs."
"Nah, she is not like that."
"Well we all just saying. You better ask her what the deal is and you guys better figure it out quick."
"Trust me, I got a good one on my hands."
"Ok, just don't say that we didn't warn you."

I mean I love my boys, they've always look out for me but they just didn't get it. This girl was everything and more. I thought that maybe they were on the offense because they haven't met her. So I decided to bring her to a friend's bbq. I mean, if she didn't get along with my friends then I knew that it wasn't going to work out. She had to meet my second family.

"Hey dude, what's up! Haven't seen you in a while dude."
"Yeah, I know. I've been working a lot."
"It's all good. Glad you made it out."

As she entered the room, everyone turned to the door. She grabbed their attention like a magnetic field. So while I had everyone's attention...

"Hey everyone, this is my girl."

She drank with the guys, played with the kiddies and conversed with the ladies. The night seemed like it was going well until her phone rang. I haven't seen some of these fellas in a while since many of them  started having families of their own but she needed to leave because she was assigned an early shift. As we got to the car, she apologized for having to cut it short. I started to approach her exit on the freeway but had to re-route to my pad when she said..

"If you don't mind, I don't want to go home tonight. I don't want to spend the night alone."

..."I’mma take you anywhere you wanna go. Let you meet my friends so they can lecture me again about how reckless I have been"...

Fall For Your Type (Part 2)

(continued from Part 1)

Being that she was different, she had big dreams and had this determination like no one that I have ever met. She understood me in ways that no one could grasp and for that I supported her in all of her aspirations.

Out of all of the guys that I knew were trying to get at her, I would always be the last one she connected with at the end of the night. She had the presence of a lady but acted like a boss down right. Having an attitude that thought like a boss, she started to have agendas that took time away from us. I respected that though. I knew that she had a lot to deal with but I knew that there was something missing.

"Are you really into me?"
"What kind of a question is that? Of course I'am."
"I just feel that I'm into you more than you are into me."

She put her phone down and gave off this uneasy vibe. I braced myself for what she was about to tell me.

"I've had my heart broken so many times and I just want to take things slow."
"We can go at any pace you want but is your heart in this?"
"Yeah, but I just want to be making the right decisions."

We've been keeping this relationship on the down low for too long. I just want to tell the world about this girl and how she makes me want to be a better man. However, I knew that I had to respect her space and her decisions. I knew if I did the opposite, I would risk losing her and there would be another guy quick to swoop in.

"So who am I to judge you on the past girl? I think there’s a reason for it all."

Fall For Your Type

I knew that I had something good. She was a girl with a good head on her shoulders. An uncanning spunk that gave her an edge. I knew that I had to spend more time to get to know this girl. Although my mind was hestiant, my heart felt like I had nothing to lose.

"Promise me that you won't fall in love," she said.
Puzzled but dead locked into her eyes, "Don't be too confident girl."
"It's weird how we got to this point because you are usually not my type."
Unsure of whether to take it as an insult or compliment I asked,
"Well tell me, what is your type?"
"Everything opposite of you...Tell me, what is your type?"
"I don't have a type but I'll tell you this much, you're special. You 're different."

As much as I didn't want to unveil my softer side to her, I just knew that I had to say something because if I didn't I'd regret not saying a damn thing. I didn't want to stop something that hasn't reached it's full potential yet.

She got closer, clasped her hands in mine. The taste of her sweet lips compensated for the sneak peak of my heart. Floating on cloud nine, I asked myself...Is this really happening? Is this girl really feeling me? This girl was not my typical type, she was in a class all on her own. Her voice got me feeling like a school kid and just the sight of her, I swear she can hear my heartbeat over the speakers.

As I held her close, she kissed my neck and softly whispered, "You're special too. You are for sure something else."

"Cause man, it's been a while but I swear this one is different."

Love Goes A Long Way (Part 3)

(continued from Part 1, Part 2)

Sara and Chris had a chemistry that was unbeatable, total opposites on the exterior but in sync on the inner. They accepted each others differences because they felt that its was a good thing, that they balanced each other out. However from one disagreement to another, Sara felt that it was just beginning to be too much. Yeah they weren’t official but Chris wanted to have that title.

Sara didn’t want to make such a big commitment because she knew that she wasn’t ready. She did not to make a commitment that she knew she could not fulfill. It was just not fair to the both of them. The rules of dating for Sara and Chris were not structured. Sara felt that she should not restrict Chris from dating other people, after all they did not discuss being exclusive. She on the other hand was not looking to date anyone else because she was too busy trying to get ahead at her job.

One day when Sara was hanging out with Chris, she noticed that his phone kept ringing and beeping. She was never the type to invade someone’s privacy and thought nothing of it. Maybe it’s one of the boys just trying to get him to come out to the bar or maybe his homegirl got some man issues and needs his advice. The beeps and rings just became too obvious when they hung out time and time again. She felt it cut away from their quality time. She finally asked Chris why his phone was blowing up off the hook and he told her that it was just a friend but she knew that he was lying because his eyes were so transparent.

Chris finally confessed to Sara one night that he was seeing some other girl, Tina. She put two and two together, it was the same girl that was blowing up his facebook. She knew that she could not hold anything against him because she knew that they weren’t official and Chris was a grown man, he knew what was right from wrong. However as the months went on, it just became too much. Tina started to make it obvious, she wanted something more and Sara did not want to give Chris an ultimatum because if he knew what he wanted, she did not have to persuade him to continue things with her. Sara became frustrated after a while because she felt as if she was being attacked by Tina. Tina had voiced that she wanted to kill Sara because Chris was spending so much time with her. As Sara threw her bag she said, “Did you sleep with her?” Chris never saw this side of Sara but couldn’t blame her for being angry. “Yes, I did but only once and I swear it didn’t mean anything. I promise.” Sara walked out of Chris’ apartment because she needed to think things through to avoid acting irrational.

“Don’t leave me, I don’t want to lose you,” Chris said. Sara stared at the car floor as they discussed the issue, “But Chris, you can’t have the both of us and if you really know what you want, you’ll make your decision and I’ll totally support it.” It was not fair to anyone because emotions were already involved. “You’re all I want. I don’t care about her because I’m in love with you.” Sara looked over and told him that he should not use the four letter word unless he knew the true meaning of it. “Sara, I’m the one that wants a commitment from you; I’m in love with you. I think you are the one for me.” Sara felt that she needed to put her guard down and let this love happen. She believed that he meant what he said and that they could finally work towards being a real item.

"But I need to stop thinkin', contemplatin', be a man and get it over with."

Love Goes A Long Way (Pt.2)

(continued from Part 1)

Beep beep. Beep beep. Chris texts Sara, "I hope that you arrived at your destination safely. " 200 miles away from home, she slips her hand into her purse as she holds her presentation notes in front of her. As soon as she sees his name, she can't help but smile and think to herself, "what does he want this time, he knows that I'm out of town." As she presses the open button and reads Chris' message, she remembered that he wanted the pictures from the previous night. "What is your email?"

After a long day of presenting how molecular cells could be altered in order to prevent genetic distress in future offsprings, Sara decides to stay in on a Friday night by rewarding herself with quality time with the couch and some room service. As she waits for her cheeseburger and chocolate-covered strawberries to arrive, she flips through the TV channels to entertain herself. With her laptop and cell phone on the table, she decides to complete the deed that she had promised. Sara snags her phone and sends, "pictures sent."

As Sara indulged in her chocolate covered strawberries while lounging and watching Sex In The City, her cell phone starts to ring. She picks up her cell phone with a strawberry in the other and she can't help but put on that same smile. Why was he calling? What are we going to talk about? Is he drunk? As all of those questions scanned through her head, she picked up his call. "Hello?" "Hey, I just wanted to call you to tell you thanks for the pictures," said Chris. Cheeks gleaming, "you're welcome, hope you enjoy them. I know what we had a great time kickin' it with you guys."

The conversation began to build by tranisitioning through subjects. What does your parents do? What high school did you go to? How did you and so and so become friends? The subjects kept going on and on...the laughs got louder and louder. Smiles on both ends got bigger and bigger. They talked so long that the sun popped up to greet the city good morning. Then the enivitable question, "You dating anyone Sara?" "Umm. Not that I know of. Are you?" With a pause Chris replied back, "No." A night that happened so seamlessly and from one conversation to the next, it became a nightly routine.

Sara will never forget the words that summed up their status from single to dating. "You know Sara, I feel like I've known you from another life." Those words were mutually felt and from that point on, she knew that she could not miss out on an opportunity like this. An opportunity to find out where it could lead her, an opportunity at something that she felt would never come back. The feeling of falling in love.

"Just when I thought I said all I can say."

Love Goes A Long Way (Pt.1)

When she stepped out of the car, she got acquainted with someone she had only heard stories about. "Hi my name is Chris" and all she could do was smirk and say "Hi, I'm Sara". As her best friend walked ahead to speak with a stranger while the others stood in line, Chris continued the conversation in order to kill the silence. Thinking that she would never have anything in common with him, she followed his lead.

Sara asked the complete stranger in efforts to keep the dying conversation going, "So what did you major in during college?" He replied, "umm. Radiology." How weird she thought, a guy like him majored in radiology? You would think that a guy of his stature would have majored in something more stereotypical like accounting or IT. "Oh really? I majored in Biology and I just started medical school." Chris checked her with his eyes, up and down. In confusion, the girl wearing nothing but a mini dress looked awfully young. "Wait did i hear you right? Med school? How old are you?" Sara smiled because she gets it all the time, "I'm 21."

Sara walks ahead of him to catch up with her best friend, she tosses him a smile and with eyes gleaming Chris runs to catch up. They enter a small-cramped bar that was known to be popping on a Wednesday. A toast to a good night led to Patron, Jameson, Grey and Crown accompanied with pineapple and coke backs. Drinks led to more conversations. Conversations led to laughs. Laughs led to another room with good music. Built with enthusiasm to make the guy-infested place fun, Sara and her friends danced the night away while the guys took a stog break. Chris and his best friend come back to the girls busting it out on the dance floor. Not avid dancers themselves, both Chris and his best friend join in on the fun and try their best to stay on beat.

It was last call for alcohol and Sara didn't want it to end just yet. In search of something light, the group posted up at a late night Pho joint. What thought to be a group rolling deep, Sara and Chris found themselves with their best friends at the same eatery spot and sitting in the same booth. The once awkward conversation that started a few hours ago continued over caffeine and carbs."We need to do this again," said Chris. As Sara got the eye approval from her best friend she looked at Chris and said, "You know how to get a hold of us, so just let us know."

The next night she expected another night of fun, another night to paint the town. Bar after bar, conversation after the other, Chris wanted her to stay just a little bit longer but Sara couldn't. She had a training convention in another city and had to catch the first train out the next morning. In hopes to hear from her again and at the last minute as she was walking away to her car, "I want those pictures that you took tonight." She turned around, put one hand in the air and said, "Don't worry, just call me and I'll get them to you."

Over the past couple of nights, the two knew that the awkward conversations were a start to something. They just didn't know what it was and where it was going.

"Man I'm grown and I dont know what to do."
